Honored to be on Top Agent Magazine Cover

Top agent cover

This month I am so thrilled and humbled to be featured on the cover of Top Agent Magazine Florida edition. What an honor this is to be recognized as one of the top agents in the state of Florida.

Jodi Avery 4

Top Agent Magazine features the best of the best in Florida real estate professionals. According to the magazine, “The real estate agents featured in the Florida edition of Top Agent Magazine have earned their place because of their commitment to providing the best real estate service available. They are innovative in marketing your home for sale, renowned for pairing Florida home buyers with their perfect home, and experts at negotiating your home sales and purchase prices.”
I want to thank my clients Jim and Deb Donnelly for taking time to be interviewed in the article and for saying such wonderful things about me.  Yes, you are more than clients. You are my friends.  I am glad my Christian faith shines through in what I do.

Jodi avery 1

My passion is helping others and I want to give all my clients a wonderful real estate experience. It doesn’t matter if a client is buying a $50,000 house or a $5 million dollar house, they all get above and beyond concierge service.

Jodi Avery 3One question most realtors featured on the cover of the magazine are asked is the secret to their success. My success comes from having a heart to care. My favorite quote is from Mother Teresa, “Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness:  kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile.”

A special thank you to Top Agent Magazine for such a beautiful and well-written article. To read this month’s edition of  Top Agent Magazine click here.

Jodi Rolls Out the Red Carpet!

Wow! The Jodi’s A-list Red Carpet event was a night of fun and excitement. I was truly honored to have so many of my A-list members at the event. It was a night to celebrate the wonderful vendors who support and compliment my clients every day. Having the best of the best in their field of expertise under one roof at the same time was amazing.

Those who attended gave such wonderful comments and compliments about the event. I want to make sure you know the event was planned and executed by many of the A-list members who contributed in their owns ways to make this event a wonderful time. I want to give a special shout out to Christal Giardina from CKG & Associates who coordinated and planned the event.

I thought it would be nice to share some of the highlights from the night with you and thank everyone who helped make the red carpet event a night to remember!

The event was held at the beautiful Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. As the members arrived they received a VIP name badge and took a walk down the red carpet. Our amazing photographers captured our A-list celebrities.

One of the most talked about take aways from the night was that every member had their own personalized “Star” with their name on it. Members were encouraged to take a photo and be recognized for their true star qualities.

redI also had a special champagne toast where I toasted the A-list members with this toast, “We are here to recognize and appreciate each of you. You are the A-list! You are important and appreciated for your collaboration, professionalism and expertise in you field. Each of you hold a special place in my heart and in my business, as a result.  So thank you!

So, let’s raise our glasses to you, the A-listers, the ones who support and complement my clients and make everything about  being able to connect you, top notch A-list, you are Red Carpet Worthy. ”

JodiAList_KHP-123Guests were encouraged to mingle and participate in fun activities including the A-list member hunt. There was also a fun photo booth where members could take photos and send them to our special hashtag at  #jodiaverysredcarpetalistevent

We also had lots of delicious food including a potato bar, brie cheese platter, shrimp cocktail and cupcake towers. Guests also enjoyed a coffee bar and cash bar featuring my signature drink coconut rum with pomegranate juice and pineapple juice.red 4

We had some fantastic prizes members could receive and a special gift was given to those who participated in the A-list member hunt. I purchased ceramic crosses from the Answered Prayers Project, a ministry I support and am on the board for.

“Trusty”

One last thing…members had the chance to help me name my fuzzy pen that night. I looked at all the names and limited it down to 5 and let my Facebook friends choose the name they liked the best. The name with the most votes is “Trusty.” Thank you to Sean Campbell for the name and to everyone for voting!

Thank you again to everyone who made our first Jodi’s A-list Red Carpet event a true success! While this wonderful night had to come to an end, the connections, the friendships and referrals will go on. I hope you are absolutely positively felt we rolled out the red carpet for you because each of you are a special A-lister to me!

I am already looking forward to next year. Will you be there? If you or someone you know should be on my A-list give me a call at 727.238.9660 or email me at jodi@jodiavery.com.

Red Carpet Event Takes Jodi’s A-list to a New Level

Red Carpet Event Takes Jodi’s A-list to a New Level

JAvery - Coming Soon Event ImageI am so excited to host my first Jodi’s A-list Red Carpet event this February. It is a night to celebrate with the members of my A-list and their spouses.  I believe this Red Carpet event will take Jodi’s A-list to a whole new level. It will be an amazing opportunity for members of the A-list to network with other members who are the best of the best in their field of expertise.

I have been in the Real Estate business since 1993, and to me there is no better compliment than getting a referral. I know each of my A-list members personally and want for them to get to know each other. This is one more way for me to thank each member of my A-list and show them my appreciation for doing a great job.

I give out about 50 referrals a week,  so once members have the opportunity to mingle at our Red Carpet Event and personally meet each other, I believe the referrals will skyrocket. This will be another great benefit to being a part of Jodi’s A-list.

Each year the A-list continues to grow. The list started out with just a few names in 2010, and in 2016, we increased our list to a book with 52 pages. I’m so honored to have fantastic service providers in this year’s book from accountants to photographers.

The event will take place on February 11, 2016,  from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. It will be a time for food, fun, prizes and red carpet debuts.

If you are on the A-list make sure you RSVP. You can RSVP online by clicking here. If you haven’t received an invitation please email me at Jodi@JodiAvery.com  If you aren’t on my A-list and feel you should be, please email me or call me. I would love to meet with you. Happy Mother’s Day with Jodi Avery

Happy Mother’s Day with Jodi Avery

Jodi Avery and her familyMother’s Day is just around the corner. I love my mom dearly and know what a joy it is to be a mom. I am truly blessed with four wonderful children, Hunter, Victoria, Elizabeth and Lily.

This year mother’s day is Sunday, May 10. On Mother’s Day it’s important to celebrate your mom. If you can’t be with your mom this year, call or write her to let her know how special she is and how much you appreciate her.

I know I am always looking for ways to celebrate Mother’s Day. Here are a few ideas I came up with after doing a little research for fun activities and events in the Tampa Bay area.

I love being pampered especially after a long week. Maybe your mom is the same. How about a little pampering this Mother’s Day by giving you mom the gift of a massage or spa day? Even a manicure or pedicure would be fun!

One thing I love, love, love from my kids are sentimental gifts like photos or artwork they give me. If you are looking for unique gifts, you can make a nice photo of your mom’s favorite picture of the family framed. There are actually tons of gifts you can make from photos and it’s easy to do. Just upload a photo and turn it into a mug, clock, puzzle or blanket. Check out Walgreens, CVS, Sam’s Club or Shutterfly for ideas and gifts.

I love candy! Don’t forget flowers and candy for mom. Looking for beautifully decorated and delicious chocolates? There are several places in the Tampa Bay area that make and sell artisian chocolates like William Dean in Belleair Bluffs and Mari Caron Chocolats sold at the Empress Tea Room in Tampa.

Maybe you are planning on taking your mom out to eat for Mother’s Day. Here are a few of my favorite places. For breakfast, I love La Creperia Café in Ybor. Chef Dino has perfected the French art of crepe. Croque Madame #68 is my personal favorite, which is a La Parisienne sandwich with ham and an egg on top.  My daughter Lily’s favorite is Marie Antoinette #21. It is a sweet crepe that has nutella, banana, fresh strawberries and Bailey’s. Yummm!  www.lacreperiacafe.com

If looking for a place to go for lunch, try my favorite Italian restaurant Casa Ludovico  in Palm Harbor.  Make sure you order the tiramisu, with it’s luscious ladyfinger in whipped cream, mascarpone and bittersweet cocoa. It is to die for! www.eatatcasa.com

One of my favorite dinner places is Red Mesa Cantina in Downtown St. Petersburg. Their Mexican-Southwestern cuisine is always authentic fresh, fun, and flavorful. I love the hip ambiance on the outdoor courtyard and fountain and of course their live music.  www.redmesacantina.com

Another place I love going is a Vietnamese restaurant La V in downtown St. Petersburg. I have an addiction to the distinctive Boba Tea which consists of black tea, condensed milk and sugar. Boba Tea has the tapioca balls, which have a consistency like gummy candy balls that are made from the potato cassava plant that sit at the bottom of the cup. There are over 60 flavors with Taro being my favorite. Yummy! La V spring rolls have fresh ingredients, minimal use of grease, as they rest on herbs and vegetables. You must go to!  www.lavfusion.com

If you like going to entertainment venues here are some offering free admission for mom. You can go to the Florida Aquarium May 9-10 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and mom is free with a full paid general admission. www.flaquarium.org  Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo is also free for mom the weekend of the May 9-10 with the purchase of a son or daughter’s full-priced admission ticket. www.lowryparkzoo.com The Glazer Museum is also offering free admission on May 10 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. www.glazermuseum.org

If you are still looking for ideas….one of my favorite place to see unique gifts is on Pinterest. Just type in Mother’s Day gifts and you will see plenty.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!

The Best of the Best Service Providers at Your Fingertips with Jodi’s A-list

The Best of the Best Service Providers at Your Fingertips with Jodi’s A-list

spring2015-Cover

What is Jodi’s A-list? It is a list of first-class service providers in Tampa Bay that I personally endorse and refer to my friends and clients. It started back 2010. My clients were asking me for home inspectors, termite exterminators, roofers and plumbers. I would hand write the numbers on a piece of paper the businesses I recommended.  After awhile the few names turned into one page sheets and the list started growing and became a book.

I had a contest to name the book and Tracey Metzger from For the Girls International came up with the name. She liked the idea of using my first name Jodi and the “A” representing my last name Avery, as well as symbolizing “A” as being the best…so that’s how Jodi’s A-list started.

To be a part of my A-list, you can to fill out the vendor form in the back of the Jodi’s A-list book or simply make an appointment to meet with me for 15 minutes to chat, so you know what is expected. When I recommend a vendor, I want them to give excellent service, be the best in their field, be honest, have integrity and really care about the client. I want the vendors I endorse to give my clients the same service I provide.

Jodi’s A-list comes out once a year and I promote it on radio and television. My recommendations have been so popular that I now have expanded it to my favorite restaurants, which are in the center of the book. What’s exciting is that I started tracking my referrals and I give out about 50 a week. I am proud of the great team of people that are on my list and the outstanding service they provide to my clients.

Here’s a sneak peak of some of my wonderful service providers on Jodi’s A-list:

-Bob Symanski with Smanksi & McKnight. Bob is my personal accountant. Tax season is right around the corner and he provides expertise, great service and makes tax season feel a little better.

-Chuck Philips with Law offices of Charles S. Philips, PLC. He is a fantastic personal injury attorney.

-Wendi Braswell. She is my phenomenal personal stylist. She dresses you for success! She can do everything from closet makeovers to personal shopping.

-Patricia Rossi is the world’s best etiquette coach and speaker in the Tampa Bay area. It is a joy and honor to know her.

-Joe Staltare with Complete Care Systems, Inc. He is my carpet cleaner and one of the nicest guys around. His service is simply outstanding and he is reasonably priced.

-Janet Tatum with New Foundations Counseling. She is a great prayer counselor. She also does inner healing. Her counsel is God centered. She can change you and your family’s life. Love her!

-Bill Christian with Two Guys and a Van. I have been using him for more than 20 years. He has never broken anything and does a meticulous job and is very fairly priced.

-Rich Weinberg with CCI Painting. He is my outside painter. He is truly the best at what he does and I am proud to have him as part of my A-list team!

-Brice Bittner with Countryside Water Conditioning. He is a phenomenal guy with years of experience and expertise in his business. The best service I have ever had!

There are so many more people I would like to share with you. If you would like to see the rest of Jodi’s A-list, email me your address at Jodi@JodiAvery.com  or call me at 727.238.9660.  I would love to send you a Free copy of Jodi’s A-list in the mail.

Top 10 Healthy Living Things to do in Tampa Bay

Top 10 Healthy Living Things to do in Tampa Bay

shutterstock_2724091

I found it is important to make your health a priority. Without health what else really matters? “If you have health, you probably will be happy, and if you have health and happiness, you have the wealth you need, even if it is not all you want.” –Elbert Hubbard.

#10 Visit Nearby Beaches
We are so lucky that Tampa Bay has picturesque scenery almost 365 days of the year! Most of the beaches are within driving distance and are a perfect place to take a walk or run. Check out these locations: Fort De Soto Park, which was recently named America’s “Best Family Beach” by USA Today, Clearwater Beach, which was named “Best Beach Town” in January 2013 by, USA Today and Caladesi Island State Park which was named “America’s #1 Beach” in 2008 by Dr. Beach.

#9 Take a run on the Fred Marquis Pinellas County Trail

This is 38 miles of paved trail going from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs. The trail is a wonderful place to go for a sprint or if you are up for it, a marathon.

#8 Play Sports

We have so many places you can go to play a round of golf or a game of tennis. You can also go for a swim. Try out a country club or join an intramural league.

#7 Check out your City Recreation Center

City recreation centers are a great place to help you get healthy this year. Some recreation centers offer free gym memberships to their residents. Most centers have pools and fitness classes and usually the prices are pretty reasonable.

#6 Join a Gym

Gyms and fitness centers are all over. Find the right one that works for you. You can workout just with women or just with men or both. Some provide day care if you have little ones. There are even 24 hour gyms.

#5 Eat at Healthy Restaurants

We are fortunate that restaurants throughout Tampa Bay are popping up serving nutritious menu items. Here are a few to check out including: Rollin Oats Cafe and Market in St. Petersburg, which has been around since 1994. Another on in St. Petersburg is Locale Market, recently opening in St. Petersburg’s Sun Dial with celebrity-chefs Don Pintabona and Michael Mina.

#4 Indulge in Healthy Desserts

I love delicious desserts that won’t put on the pounds. If you are looking for a great dessert place, D’Lites Emporium has awesome ice cream and other wonderful healthy foods. D’Lites ice cream is low in sodium, sugar, fat, and carbohydrates. It is cholesterol free, and a healthier alternative to regular ice cream. There are several locations around Tampa Bay.

#3 Buy from Local Farmers Markets

If you like to cook at home, local farmers markets are fun to visit and offer lots of fruits and vegetables. Juicing and making smoothies from fruits and vegetables is a great way to get vitamins and nutrients in your body. There are several markets around Tampa Bay. Largo offers a local market on Fridays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Largo Central Park, located at 101 Central Park, Largo.

#2 Pamper Yourself at a Wellness Center or Spa

It is also important to pamper yourself as a reward for all your hard work! Take advantage of some of the wonderful wellness centers and spas we have in Tampa Bay, including the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. This historic facility has a 50,000 square foot spa and fitness center. It is important to take time and relax. This will also benefit your health.

#1 Relax, Rejuvenate and Revitalize with Nature

Relax, rejuvenate, revitalize and reconnect with Florida’s great outdoors. The sun’s rays are proven to strengthen the immune system. The sun can help us with our mood and improves our cardiovascular system. The sun also eases the healing of swollen joints. What better way for us to top off our list of healthy living than by taking in a little sunshine!

Hopefully you are excited about making 2015 a healthy one!
